The United Methodist Mission Team meeting is the 1st Monday of each month at 9:30
am in Kirtley Hall. This meeting is for all the officers of the UMW.
The United Methodist Unit Meeting is the 3rd Monday of each month at 12:30 pm in Kirtley Hall. Anyone interested in joining the UMW is welcome to join us at this meeting.

2010 Special Mission Recognition Awards
Inspired by 2Timothy 1:6, "I now remind you to stir into flame of the gift of God which is within you..." the cross and the flame symbolize the emblem of the United Methodist Women's organization. Both remind us of our Purpose of growing in our understanding of and willingness to participate in the global ministries of the Church. The shape is fluid and free-floating suggesting change and mobility. We are a group of Christian women with many gifts who are unified by our Spirit. We participate in God's mission in all areas of life. Today we are recognizing two individuals that you have chosen to honor for their outstanding discipleship.
For 2010, Rachel Sterrett and Howard Jefferies have been recognized for their service to our community and the church.
Rachel for her service to the UMW, Habitat for Humanity, Church Women United, Angel Food Ministries and the numerous committees that she has served and lead for our church and her mentoring of new committee members.
Howard was recognized for his hard work, team leadership and the countless hours he spends making sure all problems are addressed. Above all he is recognized for having the greenest thumb around and making the church grounds spring with the beauty of the earth.

2010 Conference Financial Report
In the June issue of Response magazine, the official magazine of United Methodist Women, the 2010 United Methodist Women Conference Financial Report was printed reporting on each jurisdiction. The Southeastern Jurisdiction which includes the Florida Conference reported $550,600.00 was the total pledged, $558,269.29 was actually givin to Missions and $49,613.29 was given to Designated Giving for a total of $607,882.68.
The Southeastern jurisdiction gave a total of $5,723,976.94. The national total given to missions was $17,442,120.25. Thank you all for your pledges and generous support to missions.
Welcoming the Stranger
For over 100 years Susannah Wesley Community Center in Honolulu, Hawaii has been welcoming immigrants. The centers outreach led to historic news headlines in April when the federal government filed human trafficking charges against Global Horizons Manpower, Inc of Beverly Hills, CA and eight farms in Hawaii and Washington state for luring more than 200 men from Thailand to work at farms where they were subjected to abuse.
The information that led to this case came to light nearly two years earlier when the Thai workers came to the Susannah Wesley Center for assistance. Staff at the center interviewed these men in their native language and recognized their story as one of human trafficking.
Love in Action: Give a gift of financial support to the Susannah Wesley Community Center or pray for release of captives caught in human trafficking.
